Wasabi adds Covert Copy ransomware recovery to EMEA partner program

Wasabi updated its EMEA partner program with patent-pending Covert Copy ransomware recovery, deeper Commvault and Synology integrations, and one-click MSP onboarding.

Wasabi Technologies expanded its EMEA partner program this week, adding a patent-pending Covert Copy ransomware recovery capability, deeper Commvault and Synology integrations, and a one-click self-activation feature for MSP account management.

The company cited results from its 2026 Global Cloud Storage Index showing that 42% of European organizations lost access to cloud data after a cyber attack, and that 92% are backing up production AI data and applications. Wasabi stated the updates respond to rising demand for cyber resilience and storage for AI workloads across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Covert Copy creates an invisible, immutable copy of selected data designed to remain inaccessible during an incident. Wasabi described the feature as patent-pending and said it is intended to provide an additional layer of ransomware recovery for enterprise customers.

Wasabi expanded its partnership with Commvault to combine data protection with Wasabi cloud storage. The company also upgraded its integration with Synology to support hybrid backup scenarios that keep frequently accessed data on-premises while moving scale and long-term retention to the cloud.

Wasabi introduced Wasabi Account Control Manager Self-Activation, offering free multi-tenant management and one-click onboarding for managed service providers. The company expects the feature to reduce time to market and improve operational efficiency for service providers that manage multiple customer accounts.

Wasabi highlighted predictable pricing, no egress fees, and a high-performance storage architecture as commercial features partners can use when competing for deals in AI, data protection and cloud application markets.

Kevin Dunn, Wasabi’s vice president and general manager for EMEA, commented: “Cyber resilience has moved from an IT priority to a business imperative, and our partners are leading this change of mindset across EMEA.”

Neil Brosnan, vendor alliance director at Exclusive Networks, noted the partnership helps channel partners address growing needs for secure data storage as AI adoption increases. He added that secure storage, integrated protections and predictable pricing help partners respond to regulatory and threat pressures.

Wasabi framed the package as part of a partner-focused strategy in EMEA aimed at enabling MSPs and resellers to deliver managed storage and backup services that support cyber resilience, simplified management and cost controls. The company indicated the updates are intended to help organizations protect production AI workloads and recover cloud-resident data when access is disrupted by cyber incidents.
