Trump Meme Coins Tick Up After Palm Beach Airport Logo Reveal
TRUMP, MAGA and TrumpCoin rose after Eric Trump unveiled the official logo for the renamed Donald J. Trump International Airport in Palm Beach.
On May 5, Trump-themed cryptocurrencies TRUMP, MAGA and TrumpCoin posted small gains after Eric Trump unveiled the airport logo in Palm Beach, Florida. TRUMP rose 3.75%, MAGA climbed 3.29% and TrumpCoin (DJT) added 1.1%.
Eric Trump posted a gold eagle emblem on X and thanked his father. He wrote, “For the first time, I am extremely proud to share the OFFICIAL logo for the Donald J. Trump International Airport in Palm Beach, Florida. There is no person more deserving of this incredible honor than @realDonaldTrump! Congratulations Dad!” He added, “Looking forward to seeing flights landing at ‘DJT’ very very soon!”
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed legislation in March that renames Palm Beach International Airport (PBI) as Donald J. Trump International Airport effective July 1, 2026. A separate federal bill is required before the International Air Transport Association can change the airport’s three-letter code from PBI to DJT. About $5.5 million has been earmarked for new signage and rebranding tied to the renaming, and trademark filings linked to the Trump Organization were submitted before the bill signing.
TRUMP is a Solana-based meme coin that former President Donald Trump endorsed three days before his January 2025 inauguration. The token’s market capitalization is above $558 million, though it trades about 96% below its $73.43 launch peak. MAGA, a community token associated with the broader pro-Trump movement, posted similar gains on the logo news.
TrumpCoin (DJT) is the token most closely tied to the airport call letters and recorded the smallest increase. DJT’s market value is near $647,000 and daily trading volume is thin; the token remains more than 99% below its 2024 high.
These tokens have reacted previously to public statements by the former president and to high-profile gatherings at Mar-a-Lago. The July 1, 2026 state-level name change will take effect on that date; any change to the IATA code will require action at the federal level before international carriers and the IATA adopt the DJT identifier.
