TCS launches SovereignSecure Cloud in EU for public sector
Tata Consultancy Services introduced SovereignSecure Cloud across the EU, offering layered sovereign cloud services and a consulting framework for governments, public bodies and regulated firms.
Tata Consultancy Services has launched SovereignSecure Cloud in the European Union, offering multi-layer sovereign cloud services and a sovereignty consulting and delivery framework for governments, public-sector organizations and regulated industries.
The offering is intended to help organizations meet EU rules including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA), the NIS2 Directive and the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA). TCS says the product provides sovereignty across data, operations and digital infrastructure while preserving speed, agility and interoperability.
The technical design uses three layers. A sovereign cloud layer is delivered through hyperscalers to provide scale and flexibility within EU regulatory boundaries. A national sovereign cloud layer supports country-level localization under a unified control plane. An enterprise cloud services layer, built on the TCS Enterprise Cloud Framework, offers orchestration so organizations can apply the required level of sovereignty by workload, risk and sector.
TCS is also introducing a Sovereignty Consulting and Delivery Framework for EU customers that uses a risk-based approach to classify workloads and assign controls. The company says the framework aims to help organizations reach a minimum viable sovereign enterprise by concentrating controls on workloads with the greatest regulatory or operational impact.
Sapthagiri Chapalapalli, head of Europe at TCS, said, “SovereignSecure Cloud solutions mark an important milestone for TCS in Europe, as our customers can now benefit from a pragmatic approach to cloud that ensures resilience and sovereignty that is contextualized to the enterprise.” He said European organizations are seeking balance between supply-chain and sovereignty risks and the need to use frontier technologies to remain competitive.
Pradeep Devalla, head of sales and solutions for the cloud unit in growth markets, noted, “Harnessing sovereign AI unlocks sovereign cloud adoption advantages. Sovereign AI, which is built and operated within national boundaries, enables enhanced operational efficiency and supports local regulations compliance.” He added that integrating regionally operated AI with sovereign cloud can support services that protect sensitive information.
TCS previously launched SovereignSecure Cloud in India and later expanded the service to Kenya, East Africa and the Philippines. The company said it has operated in Europe for more than 45 years, with staff in 58 offices, 10 data centers and 21 delivery locations across the region.
The company said the layered model is designed to let public bodies and regulated firms meet evolving EU security and data rules while integrating global cloud capabilities.
