State Street Wins Global Custodian of the Year in London

State Street was named Global Custodian of the Year at the Leaders in Custody awards in London. Standard Chartered, SIX and State Street each won three awards.

State Street was named Global Custodian of the Year at the Leaders in Custody awards held at The Savoy in London last night. The ceremony recognized securities services providers across editors’ choice, innovation, agent bank survey and individual award categories.

Standard Chartered, SIX and State Street each took three awards. Deutsche Bank and Eurobank were among several firms that won multiple honors. BNP Paribas, Mizuho Bank, BNY and J.P. Morgan also received awards during the evening.

J.P. Morgan won Deal of the Year for its work with the California State Treasurer’s Office. Citi received Asset Servicing Initiative of the Year for its Single Event Processing platform. Proxymity was named Fintech of the Year, and Zilo won Fintech One to Watch and Asset Servicing Project – One to Watch for a transfer agency partnership with State Street. BBH and SimCorp shared Asset Servicing Partnership of the Year.

Clearstream received Digital Asset / DLT Initiative of the Year for its tokenized securities platform. The DTCC tokenization service was awarded Market Infrastructure Project of the Year. HSBC Orion was recognized for Excellence in Digital Asset Innovation.

Technology and service vendor awards went to FNZ for Technology Vendor Provider of the Year, Komainu for Institutional Digital Asset Custodian of the Year, and Broadridge for Securities Finance / Collateral Initiative of the Year for its DLR solution. Innovation awards were handed to Taskize for Innovation in Post-Trade Operations, FundGuard for Innovation in Investment Accounting Infrastructure, Pirum for Innovation in Securities Finance Technology, S&P Global Market Intelligence for Innovation in Custody Operations Technology, and Taurus for Innovation in Digital Asset Market Infrastructure.

Agent Bank survey winners were announced across regional categories. Standard Chartered was named Agent Bank of the Year for Frontier Markets, Deutsche Bank won Emerging Markets Agent Bank of the Year, and SIX was Agent Bank of the Year for Major Markets. BNP Paribas received the overall Agent Bank of the Year title. Other survey winners included SEB, UBS, HSBC, RBI, Intesa Sanpaolo, Eurobank, Piraeus Bank Securities Services and Santander CACEIS.

SIX secured multiple Best-in-Class recognitions for Account Management and Asset Safety and Risk Management. Eurobank’s Greek business was recognized for Client Service and Asset Safety and Risk Management. Intesa Sanpaolo received an award for Service Innovation.

Individual honors at the event included Keith Slattery receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award. Phil Brown, CEO of Clearstream Banking, was voted Industry Person of the Year. Four Industry Legends were recognized: Ben Challice, Fiona Horsewill, Vicky Kyproglou and Bohdana Yefremova.
