Solana UFO meme coins surge after Pentagon UAP release

UFO-themed Solana meme coins rose after the Pentagon posted Release 01 of declassified UAP files to WAR.GOV/UFO; UFOPEPE climbed about 44.7% and another UFO token about 30.8%.

UFO-themed meme tokens on the Solana blockchain jumped after officials posted Release 01 of declassified UAP files to the public WAR.GOV/UFO portal on Friday. The publication coincided with rapid retail buying in low-cap tokens tied to the UFO theme.

UFOPEPE recorded the largest move, rising about 44.7%. A separate token trading under a UFO label increased roughly 30.8%, while a project called UFO Gaming rose about 6%. An earlier token using the UFO ticker slipped nearly 5%, showing trade flows split across multiple similarly named assets.

Officials said the Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters (PURSUE) was launched and that additional tranches of files will be posted to the portal on a rolling schedule every few weeks. The initial tranche generated heavy social-media discussion, which coincided with the price moves on Solana.

Most trading in the affected tokens took place on retail-focused Solana launchpads and decentralized exchanges that cater to small-cap narrative trades. Activity on those venues hit fresh highs this year, with some launchpads reporting record decentralized exchange volumes tied to retail momentum.

Market structure on those platforms can amplify price swings. Automated trading bots are estimated to account for between 60% and 80% of volume on meme-coin trading venues, a dynamic that can distort price signals and speed rotations from one token to another. Past short-lived surges on similar themes have often faded within hours or days after social-media attention moved on.

Market participants point out that the tokens have no direct connection to the content of the released files and that price moves have tracked narrative momentum rather than project fundamentals. The presence of dozens of similarly branded tickers increases execution and liquidity risk for retail traders, who may encounter sudden windows of liquidity that close quickly.

In a Truth Social post, President Trump wrote that he would direct the Secretary of War and other agencies to identify and release government files related to alien life, unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP) and unidentified flying objects (UFOs), and any other information connected to those matters.

Traders treating each tranche as a market catalyst can expect fast-moving conditions and rapid reversals. Historical patterns on Solana’s meme-coin markets include rapid token launches and price pumps within hours of viral imagery or renewed online interest, followed by quick retracements when attention fades.
