SCC appoints Alexandra Wilkinson head of UK public sector

SCC UK named Alexandra Wilkinson, formerly Microsoft’s public sector sales leader for the UK and Ireland, to lead AI adoption and local-government modernization efforts.

SCC UK has named Alexandra Wilkinson as head of its UK public sector. She will lead the company’s work on AI adoption, secure data environments and modernization projects across local government.

Wilkinson joins from Microsoft, where she led digital transformation and AI adoption for public sector clients in the UK and Ireland. She has more than 15 years of experience in the technology industry, previously held senior roles at Vodafone, ran several businesses alongside her corporate career and is a qualified barrister.

Headquartered in Birmingham, SCC provides services in cyber security, cloud, data and AI, and IT infrastructure. The company operates within major public sector frameworks including the NHS, the Home Office and the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office.

In her new role, Wilkinson will lead SCC’s public sector team to support local government modernization and contribute to central government programs on AI and secure data environments.

The appointment follows the recent hiring of Russell Brown as SCC UK chief executive. SCC is shifting its operating model to a European shared services delivery approach and plans to deepen customer engagement while expanding higher-value, solution-led services with an emphasis on AI innovation.

Wilkinson commented, “I am delighted to join SCC UK and cannot wait to work with an incredible team at the forefront of Britain’s technology industry. We have an opportunity to maximize the agility a privately owned UK business can offer to drive AI integration quickly to solve real-world problems in the public sector.”

Russell Brown welcomed the hire, noting her mix of legal, commercial and technology experience. “The blend of rigour, sales excellence and deep expertise in technology makes her the ideal leader for our public sector function,” he said.

The firm said the expanded leadership team will focus on accelerating growth and increasing SCC’s presence across local and central government, defense and advanced manufacturing, using AI-led innovation to deliver more solution-led services for public sector customers.
