Global Custodian inducted State Street’s Jason Rich and NSE Clearing CEO Vikram Kothari into its GC Hall of Fame during the publication’s Leaders in Custody Asia awards. The Hall of Fame recognizes executives with long careers in securities services and market infrastructure whose work affected operational and regulatory practices across Asia Pacific.

Jason Rich has more than 25 years in banking and financial services and has spent 17 years at State Street. He is country head for Singapore and Southeast Asia and regional head of sales for Asia Pacific. In those roles he directs an enterprise growth strategy covering Singapore, Brunei, Malaysia and Thailand and works with clients, regulators, industry groups and government stakeholders to expand State Street’s investment servicing and markets capabilities in the region. Earlier at State Street he led the asset owners and official institutions segment across Asia Pacific and helped secure several of Australia’s largest superannuation mandates. Before joining State Street, he held senior roles at the Royal Bank of Canada and worked at Westpac in trade finance and foreign exchange.

Vikram Kothari has more than three decades of experience across custody, clearing, settlement and capital markets transformation. During his tenure as managing director and CEO of NSE Clearing, he led reforms including the move to T+1 settlement, the introduction of investor-level collateral segregation and upgrades to risk management frameworks. Those reforms were intended to strengthen market resilience, improve transparency and increase investor protection. Earlier in his career Kothari built and scaled institutional custody and clearing businesses at HSBC and J.P. Morgan and participated in international forums and policy discussions on market infrastructure and regulatory standards.

Global Custodian’s Hall of Fame comprises industry veterans whose careers span decades and who have guided operational or regulatory changes. The Leaders in Custody Asia awards ceremony provided the platform for the inductions and identified settlement efficiency, risk management and client servicing as areas of focus for securities services firms operating in the Asia Pacific region.
