Revolut to invest $116M, create 200 Paris jobs

Revolut will invest $116 million in France and add 200 jobs in Paris by 2030, President Emmanuel Macron announced at the 2026 Choose France summit.

Revolut will add $116 million (€100 million) and 200 jobs in Paris by 2030, President Emmanuel Macron announced at the Choose France summit in Versailles on Monday.

The new pledge follows a $1.16 billion (€1 billion) commitment made in 2025 to locate Revolut’s Western Europe headquarters in Paris. The company has signed a 10-year lease on a refurbished building in the Bourse district, with the office due to open in early 2027.

Revolut is pursuing a French banking licence from the Autorité de Contrôle Prudentiel et de Résolution (ACPR). A licence would allow local deposit taking, credit and lending under French regulatory oversight. The timing of the ACPR decision will affect how quickly the company can expand those services.

France is Revolut’s largest market in the European Union, with about 7 million customers. The company has set targets of 10 million users by the end of 2026 and 20 million by 2030 as it expands its banking operations across Europe.

Revolut operates crypto services across the European Economic Area under a Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) licence through a Cyprus-based entity. Those services were not part of Monday’s announcement.

The announcement was included in a record $108 billion (€93 billion) of foreign investment commitments at the Choose France summit. SoftBank accounted for $52 billion (€45 billion) of the total, with additional pledges from Brookfield and Salesforce. Much of the planned funding is aimed at data centres and artificial intelligence infrastructure in France.

Macron wrote on X: “Revolut Chooses France. Following a historic investment in 2025, the group announces a €100 million expansion by 2030 and the creation of 200 jobs, reflecting a commitment to making France its European hub for financial innovation. Thank You!”

Regulatory approval from the ACPR will determine when Revolut can scale deposit, lending and credit services in France.
