Revolut app briefly showed Bitcoin at $0.02 for some users

Revolut’s app briefly displayed Bitcoin at $0.02 to some users while BTC traded above $80,000 on major exchanges.

On Friday, users of Revolut’s app worldwide briefly saw Bitcoin displayed at about $0.02, even as Bitcoin traded above $80,000 on major exchanges. The incorrect price appeared on in-app charts and in some push notifications before reverting within seconds.

Screenshots shared on social platforms showed candles on Revolut’s chart falling to as low as $0.019916. Similar display anomalies were reported for Solana and XRP. Some users received alerts indicating Bitcoin had hit a 52-week low. For most accounts the disruption lasted only a few seconds.

Market price feeds from major exchanges continued to show Bitcoin trading above $80,000 during the incident, and there have been no confirmed reports of orders executing at the erroneous price. Users who contacted Revolut reported that account balances and pending orders remained unchanged.

Revolut Support acknowledged technical issues affecting some crypto functions and asked users to message @revolutsupport so staff could check accounts. The company said engineers were investigating the root cause but did not provide details about what triggered the faulty display.

The flash display occurred on a day when Bitcoin was trading softer and briefly approached $80,000 after a modest correction that coincided with roughly $300 million in futures liquidations.

One user posted: “For three seconds, I thought I was about to buy the entire supply and become Satoshi’s final boss. Then I remembered: it’s probably just a Revolut chart glitch. Crypto never sleeps. Neither do bugs.”

Revolut holds a Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) license through Cyprus and serves more than 68 million customers across 40 markets. The company has been expanding its crypto services, including stablecoin settlement on Polygon, after removing some altcoins last year. Revolut has not said whether it will audit or change its data feed arrangements following the incident.
