Pi Network launches SLICE testnet token as PI nears lows

Pi Network launched SLICE, a second Launchpad testnet token, for a two-week trial through June 28 as native PI trades near lows below $0.12.

Pi Network’s core team launched SLICE on June 12, 2026, the second test token for its Launchpad incubation hub. The two-week trial runs through Pi2Day on June 28 and is available in the Pi Browser Launchpad. The Launchpad is designed to let users test tokens on Testnet before any mainnet release. The core team wrote that feedback from the first Launchpad test on Pi Day (March 14, 2026), which attracted about 478,000 participants, was used to simplify the participation flow, adjust Launchpad mechanics and refine the user experience. Pioneers who wish to participate must open the Pi Browser, access the Pi Launchpad, review the SLICE project, choose a commitment amount in Test-Pi, confirm participation and interact with the Slice of Pi app. The core team emphasized SLICE is a Testnet-only asset and will not be ported to Mainnet. A post on X read, “SLICE is a Testnet token and will never go on the Mainnet.” PI has been under selling pressure in recent weeks. The token dropped below $0.12 on June 6 and has since recovered about 7% from that low. PI remains roughly 95.7% below its all-time high from late February 2025. Some observers point to certain on-chain metrics and an upcoming token unlock schedule as factors that could influence near-term price moves. Market indicators show the relative strength index in oversold territory. The SLICE trial will test whether the updated mechanics make participation easier and give users another opportunity to learn ecosystem token procedures ahead of future launches. The core team noted the first test produced large-scale participation and feedback that informed the current changes.
