Microsoft unveils 13-inch Surface Pro and three Surface Laptops

Microsoft introduced a 13-inch Surface Pro for Business plus three Surface Laptop for Business models, all shipping with Intel Core Ultra Series 3 chips and optional Core Ultra X7 upgrades.

Microsoft introduced a 13-inch Surface Pro for Business and three Surface Laptop for Business models that start shipping with Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors and offer an upgrade path to the higher-end Intel Core Ultra X7. The company plans Snapdragon X2–based configurations later in the year.

The new 13-inch Surface Pro for Business is a 2-in-1 designed for users who need tablet flexibility with laptop-class performance. It is available in select markets starting at $1,949.99 and can be equipped with an optional 5G modem. Microsoft sells the pen, adjustable stand and detachable keyboard separately.

Microsoft refreshed the Surface Laptop for Business lineup with three sizes, including an all-new 13-inch model described by the company as its most portable to date. The 13-inch laptop is available initially in 16GB and 24GB memory configurations starting at $1,499; an 8GB SKU is planned for later in 2026 at about $1,299. The larger 13.8-inch and 15-inch models carry higher entry prices around $1,949.99. All Surface Laptop for Business models include haptic touchpads and touchscreens, and buyers can choose an anti-glare display or an integrated privacy screen.

Every new Surface for Business device ships with Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors as the standard option. Customers may configure machines with the Intel Core Ultra X7 for higher graphics and compute performance. Microsoft provided comparative performance figures linked to those X7 configurations.

According to the company, Surface systems configured with the Intel Core Ultra X7 can deliver up to 35% more graphics performance than an M5 MacBook Air and more than 90% faster overall performance compared with the 2022 Surface Laptop 5, in the specific test configurations cited. Nancie Gaskill, vice president of Surface Business, wrote in a Microsoft blog post that the Series 3 architecture brings a “meaningful” jump in graphics performance and enables AI-accelerated workflows. She added, “Whether your teams are in the boardroom, at a customer site, or working from anywhere, these AI PCs are built to perform at the speed of business.”

Availability varies by model and market. The 13-inch Surface Pro is already on sale in selected regions, Surface Laptop SKUs are rolling out now with some configurations arriving later in 2026, and Snapdragon X2–powered options are expected later in the year for customers seeking ARM-based alternatives.
