Jason Rich, State Street’s country head for Singapore and Southeast Asia and regional head of sales for Asia Pacific, and Vikram Kothari, managing director and CEO of NSE Clearing, were inducted into Global Custodian’s Hall of Fame during the Leaders in Custody Asia awards. The inductions recognised long careers and contributions to custody, clearing, settlement and market infrastructure in the region.

The Hall of Fame honours senior securities services professionals whose careers include leadership roles and work on market development and infrastructure. Global Custodian presented the awards at its Leaders in Custody Asia ceremony, an industry event for custodians, exchanges, regulators and asset managers in the Asia Pacific market.

Jason Rich has more than 25 years in banking and financial services and has worked at State Street for 17 years. In his current roles he leads the firm’s growth strategy across Singapore, Brunei, Malaysia and Thailand and oversees regional sales for Asia Pacific. His responsibilities include developing client relationships, engaging with regulators and government stakeholders, and coordinating investment servicing and markets capabilities across business lines. Earlier he led the asset owners and official institutions segment for APAC and helped secure several large Australian superannuation mandates. Before State Street he held senior roles at Royal Bank of Canada and began his career in trade finance and foreign exchange at Westpac.

Vikram Kothari has worked in custody, clearing and settlement for more than 30 years. As CEO of NSE Clearing he led operational and regulatory reforms including the move to a T+1 settlement cycle, the introduction of investor-level collateral segregation and the rollout of enhanced risk management frameworks designed to increase transparency and investor protection. Earlier in his career he built and scaled institutional custody and clearing businesses at HSBC and J.P. Morgan. He has taken part in international forums and policy discussions on market infrastructure and regulation.

The Hall of Fame membership consists of industry practitioners whose careers span decades and who have driven structural or operational change in post-trade services. Global Custodian presented the inductions at the regional Leaders in Custody Asia ceremony to acknowledge sustained contributions to custody, clearing and settlement across the Asia Pacific region.
