State Street executive Jason Rich and Vikram Kothari, chief executive officer of NSE Clearing, were inducted into Global Custodian’s GC Hall of Fame during the Leaders in Custody Asia awards ceremony.

The GC Hall of Fame recognizes senior executives with long careers in custody, clearing, settlement and related market infrastructure who have led change across those functions.

Jason Rich has more than 25 years of experience in banking and financial services and has worked at State Street for 17 years. He serves as country head for Singapore and Southeast Asia and as regional head of sales for Asia Pacific. In those roles he leads State Street’s growth strategy across Singapore, Brunei, Malaysia and Thailand, manages client relationships and liaises with regulators, industry bodies and government stakeholders.

Earlier at State Street, Rich led the asset owners and official institutions segment for Asia Pacific and was involved in securing several large superannuation mandates in Australia. His prior roles include senior positions at Royal Bank of Canada and work at Westpac focused on trade finance and foreign exchange.

Vikram Kothari has more than three decades of experience in custody, clearing and settlement. Before joining NSE Clearing he built and scaled institutional custody and clearing businesses at HSBC and J.P. Morgan. As managing director and CEO of NSE Clearing, he oversaw implementation of T+1 settlement, investor-level collateral segregation, and updated risk management frameworks.

Those initiatives at NSE Clearing were implemented to change settlement timing, separate investor collateral accounts and strengthen risk controls. Kothari has participated in international industry forums and policy discussions on market infrastructure and regulation.

Global Custodian selected Rich and Kothari for the Hall of Fame based on their records in business development, client engagement and market reform. The induction was presented at the Leaders in Custody Asia event, which gathers industry participants to recognize performance in post-trade services.
