Global Custodian has inducted four senior executives into its GC Hall of Fame, recognizing long careers in securities services and post‑trade infrastructure. The inductees were named for decades of work across product development, digital transformation, market infrastructure and custody services.
Fiona Horsewill joined HSBC in 2023 as global head of securities services. At HSBC she is responsible for the bank’s global securities strategy, including infrastructure modernization, digital capabilities and services for digital assets, private markets and emerging markets. Before HSBC, Horsewill was managing director and global head of data and digital for securities services at Citi, held senior product roles at Northern Trust and earlier worked in investment operations and transformation at Lehman Brothers Asset Management and Insight Investment.
Ben Challice is chief executive officer of Pirum. Challice has focused the firm on end‑to‑end automation, readiness for T+1 settlement and exploring applications of artificial intelligence in post‑trade processing. He has more than 25 years in capital markets, beginning in securities lending and equity finance at Goldman Sachs, participating in EquiLend’s design partner group, and holding senior roles at Lehman Brothers and Nomura. At J.P. Morgan he led global trading services for securities services, covering agency securities finance, collateral management and tri‑party businesses. Challice has served on the Bank of England’s Money Markets Committee, contributing to work on liquidity, regulation and settlement cycle reform including T+1.
Vicky Kyproglou is a managing director at UBS and global head of network and market infrastructure. She oversees the bank’s post‑trade network and relationships with financial market utilities and central counterparties. Kyproglou began her career at Paine Webber in the United States before it was acquired by UBS and has held roles including head of U.S. funding and treasury operations for Wealth Management Americas. She serves as vice chair of the International Securities Services Association and previously served on the Association for Financial Markets in Europe’s post‑trade board. Kyproglou is involved in UBS’s diversity and inclusion efforts, with a focus on supporting mid‑career women.
Bohdana Yefremova heads global payments and securities services at Raiffeisen Bank Ukraine, overseeing custody, clearing and post‑trade operations in Ukraine. She has more than 20 years of custody experience at international and local banks operating in the country. Yefremova joined Raiffeisen in 2014 as head of global securities services Ukraine, later led GIS and was appointed head of global payments and securities services. Her earlier roles include head of custody at Ukrsotsbank, part of the UniCredit Group, and positions at UniCredit Bank and HVB Ukraine.
