HP EliteBook X Flip G1i 14-inch 2-in-1 for mobile pros
HP introduced the EliteBook X Flip G1i, a 14-inch Lunar Lake 2-in-1 with Intel Core Ultra 7, a 47-TOPS NPU, 360° hinge, enterprise security and a 16 hr 27 min battery.
HP unveiled the EliteBook X Flip G1i, a 14-inch convertible laptop built on Intel’s Lunar Lake platform. The system includes an Intel Core Ultra 7 258V processor, integrated Intel Arc graphics and an integrated neural processing unit rated at 47 TOPS. HP markets the model to business customers who need a secure, portable 2-in-1.
The laptop uses an aluminum chassis and a 360-degree hinge that allows use in clamshell and tablet modes. The machine measures 314 x 220 x 14.7 mm and weighs 1.4 kg. Review units showed a small plastic bezel around the display to protect the panel from the keyboard, a slight misalignment between the lid and body along one edge, and a hinge that can feel loose when the display is tapped.
HP offers two touchscreen options: a 1,900 x 1,200 IPS panel at 60 Hz and a 2,560 x 1,600 panel at 120 Hz. Both panels are rated at 400 nits. The tested 1,900 x 1,200 panel measured about 316 cd/m2 in brightness. Color measurements for that panel showed 100% sRGB coverage, 76.4% Adobe RGB and 88.1% DCI-P3 coverage, a 0.18 black level, a 1,694:1 contrast ratio and an average Delta-E of 0.29.
Memory and storage in the reviewed configuration include 32 GB of LPDDR5X and a 1 TB SSD. The SSD posted read and write speeds of about 5,152 MB/s and 4,505 MB/s. The NPU is rated at 47 TOPS for on-device AI tasks. In benchmark testing the machine produced Geekbench 6 scores of about 2,464 single-core and 10,239 multi-core; the GPU score recorded was about 28,966. The laptop uses a 65 Wh battery and lasted 16 hours and 27 minutes in a looped video playback test.
Ports include HDMI 2.1, two USB-C ports capable of Thunderbolt 4, an additional USB-C port, one USB-A port, a 3.5 mm audio jack, a Nano lock slot and a SIM tray. Wireless connectivity supports Wi‑Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. The model does not include an SD card reader.
Security and manageability features include HP Wolf Security, HP Sure Start, Sure Run, Sure Recover and Sure Click. Firmware protection is provided by an isolated microcontroller HP calls the Endpoint Security Controller. Biometric options comprise a 5 MP AI infrared camera for Windows Hello facial recognition, onlooker alerts and presence sensing, plus a fingerprint reader integrated into the power button.
The keyboard has relatively short travel with firm, responsive feedback and a full-size Enter key; Page Up and Page Down keys are compacted above the arrow keys. The glass touchpad is centered and well sized but can feel slippery for precise cursor movement. The system includes a function-key toggle that narrows viewing angles for privacy and an F11 shortcut to open the MyHP control dock.
HP has not provided global availability dates or pricing at announcement. Configurations and display upgrades are available through HP for customers who select different performance and screen options.
