Global Custodian Inducts Four into GC Hall of Fame

Global Custodian inducted Fiona Horsewill (HSBC), Ben Challice (Pirum), Vicky Kyproglou (UBS) and Bohdana Yefremova (Raiffeisen Bank Ukraine) into its GC Hall of Fame.

Global Custodian announced four securities services leaders have been inducted into its GC Hall of Fame in recognition of sustained contributions to post-trade and securities services.

Fiona Horsewill is global head of securities services at HSBC, a role she took on in 2023. She is responsible for HSBC’s global securities services strategy, including modernizing infrastructure, expanding digital capabilities and growing activity in digital assets, private markets and emerging markets. Horsewill previously served as managing director and global head of data and digital for securities services at Citi, spent seven years at Northern Trust as global head of product for asset servicing, and held roles at Lehman Brothers Asset Management and Insight Investment.

Ben Challice is chief executive officer of Pirum. His work focuses on end-to-end automation, industry readiness for T+1 settlement cycles and the potential use of artificial intelligence in post-trade infrastructure. Challice has more than 25 years of experience across broker-dealers, custodian banks and fintech firms. He began his career in securities lending and equity finance at Goldman Sachs, was part of the EquiLend design partner group, and held senior roles at Lehman Brothers, Nomura and JP Morgan. At JP Morgan he oversaw agency securities finance, collateral management and tri-party businesses and worked on tokenized collateral solutions and open-architecture collateral platforms. He has served on the Bank of England’s Money Markets Committee, contributing to policy on liquidity, regulation and settlement cycle reform including T+1.

Vicky Kyproglou is a managing director at UBS and global head of network and market infrastructure. She oversees UBS’s post-trade network and relationships with financial market utilities, central counterparties and other core providers across business lines. Kyproglou has been with UBS and its predecessor businesses for more than three decades, beginning her career at Paine Webber in the U.S. She led U.S. funding and treasury operations for Wealth Management Americas and has served as vice chair of the International Securities Services Association and on the Association for Financial Markets in Europe post-trade board from 2015 to 2019. She has been involved in diversity and inclusion work at UBS, with a focus on mid-career women.

Bohdana Yefremova is head of GPS at Raiffeisen Bank Ukraine, responsible for global payments and securities services activities including custody, clearing and post-trade operations in the Ukrainian market. She has more than 20 years of experience in custody and securities services at international banks operating in Ukraine. Yefremova joined Raiffeisen Bank Ukraine in 2014 as head of global securities services Ukraine, became head of GIS in 2021 and was later appointed head of GPS. Her earlier roles include head of custody at Ukrsotsbank (UniCredit Group) and positions at UniCredit Bank Ltd and HVB Ukraine; she began her career at Creditanstalt Ukraine and Bank Austria Creditanstalt Ukraine. She helped maintain custody and post-trade capabilities during periods of market disruption.

Global Custodian’s GC Hall of Fame recognizes individuals with decades of experience who have led operational change and worked on technology and regulatory initiatives in securities services. The four inductees join the publication’s existing Hall of Fame members.
