Global Custodian inducts four into GC Hall of Fame

Global Custodian named Phil Brown Industry Person of the Year for 2026 and inducted Fiona Horsewill, Ben Challice, Vicky Kyproglou and Bohdana Yefremova.

Global Custodian named Clearstream’s Phil Brown its Industry Person of the Year for 2026 and added four professionals to the GC Hall of Fame: Fiona Horsewill of HSBC, Ben Challice of Pirum, Vicky Kyproglou of UBS and Bohdana Yefremova of Raiffeisen Bank Ukraine.

Fiona Horsewill joined HSBC in 2023 as global head of securities services. She is responsible for the bank’s global securities services strategy, including modernizing infrastructure, advancing digital capabilities and leading a multi-year transformation program. Her prior roles include global head of data and digital for securities services at Citi, global head of product for asset servicing at Northern Trust and operations roles at Lehman Brothers Asset Management and Insight Investment. At HSBC the securities services business has expanded activity in digital assets, private markets and emerging markets and secured new custody mandates and regulatory milestones.

Ben Challice is CEO of Pirum and has more than 25 years of capital markets experience across broker-dealers, custodian banks and fintech. He oversees Pirum’s development of end-to-end automation, support for T+1 settlement readiness and exploration of artificial intelligence in post-trade workflows. Earlier in his career he worked in securities lending and equity finance at Goldman Sachs, took part in the EquiLend design partner group, held senior financing and trading roles at Lehman Brothers and Nomura, and served as global head of trading services at JPMorgan, where he managed agency securities finance, collateral management and tri-party businesses and led development of tokenized collateral and open-architecture collateral platforms. He has served on the Bank of England’s Money Markets Committee and contributed to policy on liquidity, regulation and settlement-cycle reform.

Vicky Kyproglou is a managing director at UBS and global head of network and market infrastructure. She oversees the firm’s post-trade network and relationships with financial market utilities and central counterparties across business lines. Kyproglou began her career at Paine Webber before its acquisition by UBS in 2000 and has held senior roles including head of US funding and treasury operations for Wealth Management Americas. She is vice chair of the International Securities Services Association and previously served on the Association for Financial Markets in Europe’s post-trade division from 2015 to 2019. At UBS she has been involved in internal diversity and inclusion programs focused on mid-career women.

Bohdana Yefremova leads global payments and securities services at Raiffeisen Bank Ukraine, responsible for custody, clearing and post-trade operations. She joined Raiffeisen in 2014 as head of global securities services Ukraine, became head of GIS in 2021 and was later appointed head of GPS. Yefremova has more than 20 years of experience in custody and securities services in Ukraine, with prior roles at Ukrsotsbank (part of UniCredit), UniCredit Bank Ltd, HVB Ukraine, Creditanstalt and Bank Austria Creditanstalt Ukraine. Her work has focused on maintaining continuity and resilience of market infrastructure during periods of disruption.

Global Custodian described the inductees as industry stalwarts with decades of experience who led change across securities services and post-trade functions. The magazine noted the selections reflect sector priorities including infrastructure modernization, digitalization, preparedness for a T+1 settlement cycle, expanded services for private markets and digital assets, and operational resilience in regional markets.
