Global Custodian Adds Four to GC Hall of Fame
Global Custodian inducted Fiona Horsewill (HSBC), Ben Challice (Pirum), Vicky Kyproglou (UBS) and Bohdana Yefremova (Raiffeisen Bank Ukraine) into its GC Hall of Fame.
Global Custodian has added four securities services leaders to its GC Hall of Fame: Fiona Horsewill of HSBC, Ben Challice of Pirum, Vicky Kyproglou of UBS and Bohdana Yefremova of Raiffeisen Bank Ukraine. The inductions recognize their long careers in securities services and post-trade infrastructure.
Fiona Horsewill joined HSBC in 2023 as global head of securities services. Her background includes roles as global head of data and digital for securities services at Citi and senior product leadership at Northern Trust. Early career positions at Lehman Brothers Asset Management and Insight Investment involved investment operations and post-trade transformation. At HSBC, Horsewill oversees efforts to modernize infrastructure, expand digital capabilities and grow activities in digital assets, private markets and emerging markets while supporting new custody mandates and regulatory requirements.
Ben Challice is chief executive of Pirum, a firm focused on automation in post-trade processes. He has more than 25 years of capital markets experience, starting in securities lending and equity finance at Goldman Sachs and taking part in the EquiLend design partner group. Challice led EMEA financing sales and trading at Lehman Brothers, ran global prime services at Nomura and served as global head of trading services in JP Morgan’s securities services business, overseeing agency securities finance, collateral management and tri-party operations. At Pirum he has prioritized end-to-end automation, readiness for T+1 settlement and exploring artificial intelligence applications. He has contributed to policy work as a member of the Bank of England’s Money Markets Committee on liquidity and settlement cycle reform.
Vicky Kyproglou is a managing director at UBS and global head of network and market infrastructure, responsible for the bank’s post-trade network and relationships with financial market utilities and central counterparties. She began her career at Paine Webber before its acquisition by UBS in 2000 and has led US funding and treasury operations for Wealth Management Americas. Kyproglou serves as vice chair of the International Securities Services Association and was a board member of the Association for Financial Markets in Europe’s post-trade division from 2015 to 2019.
Bohdana Yefremova is head of GPS at Raiffeisen Bank Ukraine, overseeing global payments and securities services, custody, clearing and post-trade operations in Ukraine. She has more than 20 years of experience in custody and securities services, including roles at Ukrsotsbank (UniCredit Group), UniCredit Bank Ltd and HVB Ukraine and earlier posts at Creditanstalt Ukraine and Bank Austria Creditanstalt Ukraine. Yefremova joined Raiffeisen in 2014 to lead global securities services in Ukraine and later served as head of GIS before becoming head of GPS.
Global Custodian’s GC Hall of Fame recognizes senior figures who have influenced securities services through operational change, regulatory engagement and technology programs. The four inductees have worked across global custody, fintech solutions, market infrastructure and local market operations.
