Crypto and the World Cup: Federations, Tokens, FIFA Chain
No crypto firm is among FIFA’s seven global partners or eight official 2026 sponsors. Crypto firms have deals with national federations, fan tokens, prediction markets and FIFA’s blockchain.
No crypto company holds one of FIFA’s seven global partner slots or eight official sponsor positions for the 2026 World Cup. Crypto firms have instead signed deals with national federations, issued fan tokens, backed independent prediction markets and worked with FIFA on blockchain infrastructure.
FIFA named ADI Predictstreet as the Official Prediction Market Partner for the 2026 tournament. The service is deployed on ADI Chain’s blockchain. Independent platforms offering World Cup winner contracts without FIFA rights, including markets that track tournament odds and event-linked contracts, have seen increased activity ahead of the tournament.
Argentina’s national federation has several public crypto and fintech agreements. In September 2025 LBank signed a multi-year regional sponsorship with the Argentine Football Association and launched a $100 million prize pool tied to the partnership. In March 2026 Ant International became an official sponsor of the Argentine national team for the Asia region; the AFA’s press release said the deal grants Ant International marketing rights to use AFA intellectual property across brands including Alipay+, Antom, Bettr and WorldFirst. In April 2026 Nexo was named Official Regional Digital Asset Partner and has run a global giveaway offering fans chances to win match tickets and signed jerseys. Other regional partners linked to the AFA include BTCC, ATFX and Deepcoin.
Socios.com, operated by Chiliz, remains the exclusive issuer of the ARG fan token. Chiliz has arranged fan-token partnerships with several qualified national teams and continues to operate team token ecosystems that grant holders access to promotions, voting on minor club matters and collectible value.
Crypto-linked marketing campaigns tied to federations and platforms have included ticket giveaways, signed memorabilia and VIP packages. Nexo’s regional promotions tied deposits to chances to win match access. Deepcoin ran a campaign called Champion Glory offering limited-edition merchandise and fan events. Crypto.com ran a Visa Card promotion in Europe and Australia that allowed selected customers to enter to win Category 1 match tickets, five nights’ accommodation and matchday transport. An independently run token community offered a three-day VIP package with a private suite for the World Cup final in New Jersey for top-ranking members.
FIFA has announced its own blockchain work. In May 2025 the federation said it was building a custom Layer-1 network on Avalanche for digital collectibles and fan engagement, and it migrated FIFA Collect, the organization’s digital collectibles platform, to the new chain. FIFA President Gianni Infantino publicly discussed the idea of a FIFA token at a White House crypto summit in March 2025 and again at the World Liberty Forum in February 2026.
No company from the crypto sector occupies a top-tier FIFA sponsorship for 2026. The industry is present at national-federation level through sponsorships and fan-token programs, active on independent prediction-market platforms, and connected to FIFA’s blockchain projects.
