ChangeNOW releases ‘Beyond the Hype’ Web3 documentary
ChangeNOW released its first feature documentary, ‘Beyond the Hype,’ exploring Web3’s human impact and the platform’s role in faster, more secure cross-border remittances.
ChangeNOW released its first feature documentary, “Beyond the Hype,” and made the film available online. The documentary focuses on the human effects of Web3 and on how decentralized tools can be used to move cross-border payments with greater speed and security.
The film presents conversations about the purpose of decentralized finance rather than announcing a product or partnership. It frames financial systems as social contracts and shows real-world remittance use cases, including senders who transfer money home from cities such as Manila, where fees and payment delays are common.
ChangeNOW reports that its non-custodial exchange supports more than 8 million users, offers access to over 1,500 crypto assets, connects to more than 110 networks and provides conversion into more than 70 fiat currencies. The company describes the platform as designed for safety, speed and simplicity in converting and sending value across borders.
Participants in the documentary include ChangeNOW executives Pauline Shangett and Tim, strategic partners WanKyu Kim of D’Cent Wallet, KG of Internet Money, Tadeas Kmenta of Zelcore, Joel Valenzuela of Dash, Dorian Vincileoni of Kraken, Martin Masser of the TON Foundation, Jye Sandiford of WalletConnect and Thomas D’Eletto of Arculus. The film also features ambassadors and contributors such as Ornella Hernandez and Albert Quehenberger of AQForensics.
The documentary includes a statement presented on screen that says, “We don’t just build code; we build the infrastructure for a new kind of trust.” The film focuses on outcomes the company highlights-faster settlements, fewer intermediaries and reduced transfer costs for recipients-rather than technical specifications.
ChangeNOW frames the film as an explanation of why the team built the exchange and as an account of how the technology is used in everyday payments. The project includes a credit to a cryptocurrency news team for its contribution to the film.
The documentary is aimed at current users and at people outside the existing crypto community. It is available to stream online and includes interviews with infrastructure builders, exchange operators, advocates and technical contributors. The company says the film is intended to illustrate practical use cases for decentralized finance in cross-border payments.
