Cash App $25 NFC Magic Wand Sells Out

Cash App’s $25 Magic Wand, part of Block’s new Cash App Tags lineup and inspired by a TikTok tap-to-pay trend, sold out shortly after going on sale June 4.

The $25 Magic Wand, Cash App’s first NFC-enabled accessory, sold out shortly after it went on sale on June 4. It is the debut product in Block’s new Cash App Tags hardware lineup.

The pearlescent, star-tipped device contains an NFC chip that links to a user’s Cash App Card. It works with any contactless terminal and runs on Visa’s tap-to-pay network. A keyring lets users attach the wand to bags or clothing.

Block developed the product after a viral trend in which people placed tap-to-pay cards inside homemade wands to make contactless purchases. The company transformed the idea into a finished accessory priced at $25.

Users receive instant spend notifications and can lock or deactivate a tag remotely if it is lost. Block monitors tag transactions for fraud in real time. Thomas Templeton, Block’s hardware lead, described the product as an effort to make payment credentials more visible and portable.

Block cited data that one in five U.S. teens carries a Cash App Card. In April 2026 the company introduced a parent-controlled debit card for children aged six to 12.

Earlier this year Block expanded its hardware offerings with the Block Bitkey Bitcoin wallet and new Cash App integrations. The company reduced its workforce by about 40% in a recent restructuring and now has just under 6,000 employees.

Block confirmed additional tag form factors are in development. The company plans limited-edition drops, and some versions are expected to become permanently available later this summer.
