CACEIS Named Custodian for Triodos Dutch Article 9 Funds

CACEIS will provide custody, depositary, fund administration and reporting for Triodos Investment Management’s Dutch Article 9 fund range, expanding an existing servicing relationship.

CACEIS has been appointed to provide custody, depositary, fund administration and reporting for Triodos Investment Management’s Dutch Article 9 fund range, extending an existing servicing relationship across Triodos’ broader platform.

Under the mandate, CACEIS will carry out safekeeping of assets, perform regulatory depositary duties and handle fund administration and reporting for the Article 9 products domiciled in the Netherlands.

Article 9 funds target sustainable investment objectives under the EU Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR). They require higher levels of disclosure, reporting and oversight than lower-classified products, which increases the need for systems that capture and verify detailed environmental, social and governance information.

CACEIS said its scalable, automated front-to-back servicing model will help meet those operational and reporting requirements across Triodos’ Dutch Article 9 range.

Frans Hofkens, head of business development at CACEIS Netherlands, commented: “Our extensive experience in supporting leading asset managers, combined with our scalable and automated front-to-back servicing model, provides a strong foundation for a strategic partnership with Triodos Investment Management.”

Martijn van Oort, managing director for risk, finance & operations at Triodos Investment Management, added: “Working with CACEIS as our asset servicing partner provides a strong foundation for a long-term partnership. Together, we can further simplify our operations, increase efficiency and strengthen our focus on delivering value to our clients while maximizing our positive impact.”

The expanded remit reflects growth in Article 9 funds across Europe. Custodians and administrators have been expanding reporting and oversight functions and building systems able to handle more granular ESG data and evidence to satisfy regulators and investors.

The appointment formalizes CACEIS’ role supporting Triodos’ highest sustainability-classified strategies under SFDR and builds on the firms’ existing relationship across the manager’s wider fund platform.
