CACEIS to expand custody for Triodos Dutch Article 9 funds
CACEIS will provide custody, depositary, administration and reporting for Triodos Investment Management’s Dutch Article 9 funds, expanding an existing fund-platform relationship.
CACEIS has been appointed to provide custody, depositary, fund administration and reporting services for Triodos Investment Management’s Dutch Article 9 funds, extending an existing relationship across Triodos’ fund platform in the Netherlands.
Under the agreement, CACEIS will carry out safekeeping and oversight duties as depositary and will deliver fund administration and operational reporting for Triodos’ Article 9 strategies governed by the EU Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR).
CACEIS will apply a scalable, automated front-to-back servicing model to support the Dutch Article 9 fund range and to add operational capacity to the firms’ existing collaboration across Triodos’ funds.
Frans Hofkens, head of business development at CACEIS Netherlands, commented: “Our extensive experience in supporting leading asset managers, combined with our scalable and automated front-to-back servicing model, provides a strong foundation for a strategic partnership with Triodos Investment Management.”
Martijn van Oort, managing director risk, finance & operations at Triodos Investment Management, added: “Working with CACEIS as our asset servicing partner provides a strong foundation for a long-term partnership. Together, we can further simplify our operations, increase efficiency and strengthen our focus on delivering value to our clients while maximizing our positive impact.”
Article 9 funds under the SFDR face higher transparency, reporting and regulatory oversight than lower-classified products. The classification requires more detailed reporting of environmental, social and governance (ESG) data at the fund level.
Asset managers running Article 9 strategies have sought integrated custody and administration setups able to handle more granular ESG data and deliver detailed oversight and reporting. Custody banks and fund administrators are increasingly aligning custody, administration and data services so managers can centralize ESG metrics and compliance workflows.
CACEIS’ remit will include depositary oversight, safekeeping and fund-level operational reporting. Triodos stated the appointment strengthens operational support for its sustainability-classified funds in the Netherlands and supports its objectives on efficiency and client reporting.
