Acer TravelMate X 14 AI: 40 TOPS NPU, 14.6-Hour Battery, Full I/O

Acer’s TravelMate X 14 AI includes an Intel Core Ultra 5 226V, an integrated 40 TOPS NPU, about 14 hours 37 minutes video battery life and full I/O with HDMI, Ethernet and two Thunderbolt 4 ports.

Acer’s TravelMate X 14 AI is a 14-inch enterprise laptop priced under $1,500. The machine is built for business users who need a lightweight, well-connected notebook with on-device AI acceleration and mid-range performance.

The chassis mixes plastic and metal, weighs 1.27 kg and measures 15.9 mm thick. The design meets MIL-STD 810H durability standards. Raised bars on the rear of the lid are intended to improve airflow when the laptop sits on a desk. The unit ships with Windows 11 Pro and supports Wi‑Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.

The screen is a 14-inch touchscreen with a 1,900 by 1,200 resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. Measured peak brightness is 267 cd/m². Color coverage is 96.6% of sRGB, 70.9% of Adobe RGB and 84.1% of DCI-P3. Black level and contrast tested at 0.19 cd/m² and about 1,376:1. Pixel density is about 162 ppi.

The laptop uses an eight-core Intel Core Ultra 5 226V CPU paired with Intel Arc graphics and an integrated NPU rated at 40 TOPS for local AI tasks. Configurations include 16 GB of LPDDR5x RAM and a 512 GB SSD. Benchmark results include a Geekbench 6 single-core score near 2,453 and a multi-core score near 9,334. Synthetic testing placed the Arc graphics score around 25,514. Storage testing recorded sequential reads near 6,706 MB/s and writes around 3,644 MB/s.

Battery capacity is 54 Wh. In a looped video playback test the unit ran for 14 hours and 37 minutes. The laptop supports Windows 11 AI features such as Cocreator, Recall and Live Captions. Acer includes PurifiedView 2.0 for video framing and PurifiedVoice 2.0 for microphone noise reduction, using a 5MP IR camera and a three-microphone array. Stereo speakers are in the chassis and Acer reports AI processing to increase perceived volume while limiting vibration.

Physical connectivity includes HDMI 2.1, a USB-A port and two USB-C ports with Thunderbolt 4 on the left side. The right side houses an Ethernet jack, a second USB-A, a 3.5 mm audio jack and a security lock slot. The laptop does not include an SD card reader. Security features include a webcam shutter and Windows Hello facial recognition; a fingerprint reader is not present.

The keyboard has moderate key travel and quiet feedback. The touchpad is responsive and includes physical click buttons. Acer MyKey provides a hotkey for launching selected applications. The mix of plastic and metal lowers weight while producing a less premium tactile feel than all-metal designs.

Acer positions the TravelMate X 14 AI as a mid-range corporate notebook that combines an eight-core Lunar Lake CPU, entry-level Arc graphics and a 40 TOPS NPU for local AI tasks with extended battery life and a broad set of ports.
