Humanity Protocol H token plunges 88% after key breach

H token fell 88% to about $0.072 after attackers used a compromised private key to drain more than 17 wallets and convert stolen H into ETH; losses estimated $5M–$30M.

Humanity Protocol’s H token dropped 88% to roughly $0.072 after attackers used a compromised private key to drain more than 17 wallets and sell the stolen tokens for Ethereum. The price collapse happened within a 24-hour period and pushed H to its lowest level since mid-December 2025.

An on-chain analyst flagged the incident and published five addresses linked to the drains: 0x456Cb73b35022E4B524e5510807776453d984AeF, 0xee4B6B8967Aa947ac3aEf540eE07ea6099C566F7, 0xAf2a4989922299EB14A29E332dad1012A8aaD3A0, 0x1dfe5cF3ED5a0AC82FDD0bFCdaC7B6C6323f844a and 0xD1ea823D421E0c829ee11F772AF487fd352678EA. Early loss estimates started near $5 million and reportedly rose to more than $30 million as the attacker sold H on the open market and swapped proceeds into ETH.

Terence Kwok, founder of Humanity Protocol, confirmed the breach and attributed it to compromised private keys belonging to a member of the Humanity Foundation. The project posted a warning advising users not to interact with the bridge or any liquidity pools until the team confirms it is safe. The team stated it is working with security experts and exchange partners to contain the incident and track funds. The project posted: “We’ve detected a security incident involving the compromise of private keys belonging to a member of the Humanity Foundation.” The team added: “We’re deeply sorry that this has happened. Protecting this community is our responsibility, and we don’t take that lightly. We will share verified updates as soon as we have them, and we won’t speculate before facts are confirmed.”

The sell-off erased a rally that had pushed H to a record high the previous week. The incident occurred weeks before a scheduled token unlock on June 25, an event market participants expect could affect available supply depending on whether additional tokens enter circulation.

On-chain activity shows rapid monetization of the stolen tokens and distribution across multiple addresses, a pattern that complicates immediate recovery and tracing efforts. Exchanges and security firms have been contacted to follow the funds and limit further outflows.

Humanity Protocol launched H as part of its identity and community-focused blockchain work. The team has promised regular, verified updates as forensic investigations continue and as partners assist in tracing and containing the theft.
