Global Custodian seeks consent to share device data with 211

Global Custodian asks users to allow access to device data, cookies, unique identifiers and precise location and to share that information with 211 partners for ads and research.
On its website, Global Custodian asks users for permission to access and store device data and to share cookies, unique device identifiers and precise geolocation with 211 partners. The consent covers personalized advertising and content, ad and content measurement, audience research, services development and storage or access of information on a device.
The site states that the publisher and its partners may store or access information on a user’s device and use that data to tailor ads and content, measure performance and develop services. The notice explicitly says precise location data may be used as part of those processes.
A list of the 211 partners that may receive or use the data is available through the consent interface on the site. Users can open the consent dialog to review which partners are included and what data each partner may receive.
The notice explains some vendors rely on a legal basis called legitimate interest to process personal data. The site instructs users who do not want their data processed on that basis to object via the privacy and cookie settings.
Global Custodian provides links in the site menu and at the bottom of pages for users to manage or withdraw consent. Adjusting preferences or withdrawing consent will change how cookies and device identifiers are used going forward.
The notice does not specify how long collected data will be retained. It notes that data may be shared with or accessed by third parties and may also be used directly by the site for the stated purposes.
